Sell Online can be use to calculate empty space in the shipping box. How this works is:

• You define the size of a few objects that would fit the size of the items that you are selling.
• Add up to 3 sizes in the shipping profile.
• Sell Online will return the empty space object that will fit in the box and the available weight.
• You would match this to the items in your catalog and with some basis affinity rules you could display a list of complimentary products that the consumer could purchase without increasing the shipping cost.

Benefit:

• Additional sales could be realized through this type of marketing.

Implementation Instructions:

Development team please follow these instructions.

1. Request your shipping profile account changed to add Empty Space from sellonline@canadapost.ca
2. Update your shipping profile with the empty space test objects:
• http://sellonline.canadapost.ca/servlet/LogonServlet
3. Submit some test transactions for delivery to any of the major Canadian centres. Capture the result from Sell Online.
4. You can turn off the empty space once turned on by Canada Post in your shipping profile:
5. Build the changes to the commerce engine to determine the products to display to the consumer.
