Feature: Pickup at Postal Outlet
Description:
The consumer will be given the choice of delivery to Home or a Postal outlet.
Your consumer can be offered a choice of Postal Outlets to ship their purchase to for later pickup.
The Sell Online application will return the closest postal outlets to the address that the consumer
has put into the delivery address.
Benefit:
- Parcels can be delivered to Postal Outlet of Choice
- Consumer will be notified by Postal Outlet when Parcel arrives
Implementation Instructions:
Development team please follow these instructions.
- Sample from Browser
- Once you open your browser with our sample transaction. You can submit the
transaction to see the standard XML response. To see the HTML response with
the postal outlet information:
- Change CPC_DEMO_XML to CPC_RUSSELLCARVINGS.
- Also change the postal code H3K1E5 to a Toronto Postal Code i.e. M1R1C0.
- Submit the transaction.
- Pickup extended DTD from our site
- Request shipping profile account change to enable Pickup functionality from sellonline@canadapost.ca
- Receive response from Sell Online and show Postal Outlet selection for consumers to select.
- Please note that the transaction will be 14% to 30% slower because of the size of the lookup database.
- When using the XML data do not display the Postal Outlet Postal Code on the internet this is an internal
postal code. You do need to use this postal code when printing the address label.
- Capture consumer selection and replace delivery address with the Postal Outlet address returned by Sell Online.
- Add the consumer contact phone number to the address line.
- Print Shipping label with Postal Outlet Address and Client Name and contact number.
